The Meadows Primary School has embedded Red2Blue throughout school. This video captures how they have established Red2Blue as a common language for managing pressure and emotions, transforming the wellbeing and behaviour of pupils.
A student-led approach to wellbeing

The Meadows has appointed two pupils as the school's wellbeing champions. These young students have taken ownership of the Red2Blue framework, understanding not just the strategies themselves, but their role in supporting their peers. As they explain in the video, their job involves helping other children by promoting the school's values and ethos as well as positive wellbeing across the school.
What makes this approach so powerful is its simplicity and accessibility. The children talked naturally about recognising when they're in a "Red Head" (feeling angry, anxious, or overexcited) and the practical steps they can take to return to a "Blue Head", where they feel "cool, calm, clear and aware." Each classroom has its own Red2Blue box filled with resources, making the tools immediately available when needed.

From theory to practice
One of the school's Red2Blue coaches, explained the thinking behind the approach: "Where our attention goes, our energy follows." This simple principle underpins everything Red2Blue does. Rather than suppressing emotions like anxiety or anger, the programme teaches children to recognise these normal feelings and find strategies to regulate themselves so they can focus on their learning.
The wellbeing champions demonstrate this beautifully. They sit with children who need time and space to reflect, helping them to think through what happened, how their behaviour affected themselves or others and what Red2Blue strategies they could use next time.
